Consecrated to God
I am a Singaporean law student at Durham University, UK.
I have multiple testimonies.
The first was when I was 10 when I attended a prayer watch for children. This was the first time I had seen children as young as 7 go up to share about the visions, bible verses (which they would not have known of) and pray so passionately to God. For a 10 year old, these wonders were enough to remove all doubts about God’s existence. I have not turned back since.
The second was when I was 16, a struggling teen in an international school, yearning for peer recognition and worldly desires. I knew God existed but I struggled to stay on His path and treaded deeper into darkness. But God was faithful and He lifted me from the depths, dusted me off, purified me with Jesus’ blood yet again. I have not turned back since.
The third was when I was 19, a girl uncertain about the future and desperately concerned about myself rather than God’s calling. My testimony can be found here. I have not turned back since.
I have two brothers, one of whom is 15 years younger than me. I love sushi and deep-fried softshell crabs. I am addicted to chocolate (who isn’t?!) Whoever said that women could multitask has yet to meet me because I am as ‘monotask’ as one could possibly be. My favourite Singaporean dish is called ‘Sambal Kangkong’, which is a hollow-stemmed vegetable fried with chilli prawn paste.
I’ve got a big heart for children. This passion sparked when I served in a local orphanage in Beijing for a few years. Since then, I gone with a group of friends to build a basketball court for an orphanage in Vietnam, taught English in a summer camp in a rural village in South China, volunteered in a children’s drama activity in Durham and currently help out in a local Durham créche. Perhaps, God will lead me more into this area in the future? I don’t know, Papa God will tell me soon…
This blog was created to pen my thoughts, keep me accountable and just to keep my friends and family at home updated on my journey and life in Durham. Interestingly, this is also the first form of social media that I have dedicated to God. This blog is technically His, not mine (:
